Sister's new rig

Started out as a dell vostro 200 my dad got a few years ago after, what i thought was a perfect computer, had died.

((RIP HP a1268c 2005-2009 your AMD loveliness won't be forgotten))

The specs of the dell stock were:
Pentium Dual Core e2180 2.0ghz
2.0GB RAM DDR2 800mhz
Intel HD 2000
Vista Business

My dad knew it's stock specs were extremely weak so he put forth $150 to upgrade it. Here's what they were after upgrading.

Pentium Dual Core E2180 2.0ghz
4.0GB DDR2 800mhz RAM
Nvidia Quadro Fx 570 (Dead currently)
1x80GB Seagate HDD

1x200GB Seagate HDD (From the dead HP. Still kicking strong 9 years old!)

And still stupid crappy vista business.

It was my dad's horrible sorry excuse of a CAD machine for about two and a half years and our home PC until my dad got some money and we invested in an AMD A10 laptop which is technically a gaming laptop... but my mom just uses for facebook and I got my own rig. So this dell sat for the better part of 6 months until yesterday I got off of my lazy arse and decided to do something with it.

It was gonna be a simple job; Remove the hard drives, back up the crap on them, install windows 7, right? No.

I guess I was an idiot a while ago and dropped in a core 2 quad while it was sitting there and it didn't boot (which I later found out it needed a BIOS update to support). So I removed the horrible /excuse/ of a heatsink and fan assembly and dropped it's pentium dual back in. After that I plugged it back in and powered it up. Well... it went through a boot loop three times and after the third time the hard drives spun up and the fan on the quadro was on full blast but it displayed absolutely NO video at all. I was utterly confused. So I opened it back up and removed the GPU and plugged it in via the integrated video to the monitor. Booted without an issue.

Knowing my sister's hate for integrated graphics, I acted without haste in dropping in a -slightly dated- but still capable Asus EAH3450. Dropped it in and again booted without issue. Installed win 7 onto it and installed the drivers and now it's her current rig. Needs a wireless card though, no internet and it's upstairs.

New specs:

Windows 7 ultimate x64

1x80GB Seagate HDD

1x 200GB Seagate HDD

Foxconn G33M02
Pentium Dual Core E2180
Asus ATI Radeon HD 3450 256mb

4x1GB DDR2 800mhz

Sooo yeah pics coming soon
