*NAS-Name to be entered here*
Introduction:
Hey there guys, I'm planning on building a pretty good Home-NAS.
I plan on installing DSM 5.0 with Nanoboot. The mobo is supported so I should be good to go.
All them movies, pictures, musics, games and windows backups will be located there accessible from several local user.
For offsite-BackUp ill be running a headless CrashPlan Client on the system with a single license.
Specs:
CPU: Any Xeon 4-Core + HT for 1150
Mobo: AsRock E3C224D2I
Ram: 16gb ECC Ram of a trusted manufaturer
HDDs: 4x 6TB WD Red (maybe better HDDs will be released when I buy the parts, we'll see)
Case: need some help here, Maybe the U-Nas 400? I want them pci slots :3 But definitely mITX
PSU: Any ~200W Platinum or better PSU
PCIe: Fiber NIC so once I move to a place with fiber I can also use it as my router (not sure on that one though)
I gladly accept recommendations, for both the name and the specs
As soon as I bought all the parts pictures of the building process will be posted.
Greets!
