Custom Desk Build Log

So I have struggled for some time to find a desk that fits the space I have for one and my desire for a corner desk capable of holding my rig plus my future upgrades. So I set off on my journey to design a custom corner desk. It started with an Idea. Then I began researching custom builds on google to give me ideas....BUST!! All I found was contemporary desks for the modern type, not for a gaming setup. So after contacting some people I have found a software that let me put my ideas in my head on paper so to speak since I am far from artistic. It allowed me to visualize my 7 1/2 foot from corner to end desk, the custom monitor shelf that puts my monitors at a comfortable viewing level, the cable management channel that allows me to hide all wires except where they come out to be plugged in and allows me to limit the ugly look of a birds nest of wires under my desk, the hidden USB 3.0 hub that allows my rig to set further away from my monitors without compromising my short mouse cord without having to deal with the cluttered feeling.

This is my idea, put on paper and being put into action. I will be tweaking the design just a bit and will begin the supply gathering phase. Once I have gathered supplies I will begin to build, yes build. The long and laborous process of wood working. This desk will be flawless. Covered in a sheet of satin black with some blue accents. Blue accent lighting may or may not be used, this is still up in the air. Below the level of the desk top There will be access ports to the cable channel so I can well yea, access my cables to plug them in and what not. The frame will be sturdy enough to stop a MACK truck, though I hop to god it never has too. The frame and the top will be built in 2 segments to allow for easier moving both for size and weight reasons because this S.O.B. will be BIG and HEAVY. The bottom will feature 2 cubby style shelves for my printer. Why 2 you ask? Because I like change and I want to be able to move my stuff around from time to time.

This desk is an ever-changing work in progress so buckle up for the ride and tune in for more pics and updates!
