Über Weeb build [W.I.P]

Hey y'all

What better way to say "Hi" then dive into describing the project I have on the build. First though let me tell you a little about myself. I'm 39 and married with 3 girls. Oldest is a gamer who glomped onto my laptop currently running (barely) Vista 32 bit. Despite also buying a 3 fan cooler for it she still manages to keep it from melting down. The middle one is more of an anime fan but likes to play Minecraft tekkit once and a while. My youngest is a YouTube junkie. Fortunately my waifu picked up a newer laptop that's running Win 8 so the youngest glomps onto that most of the time. That leaves me with my current main machine that I built.

It's a Core 2 Quad running Vista in 64 bit mode. The 1st thing I bought was the case (a CM Elite 330). I then bought the rest

Mobo - Asus P5Q SE

CPU - Q6600

Video Card - Powercolor Radeon

Anyway I started off with 4GB of ram but added another 4 later.

I started off with the stock Intel cooler but later swapped it for the CoolerMaster one.

Also I started off with only 1 HDD but when my sisters Acer died I nabbed her perfectly good HDD and it's now my data disc.

So Vista seems OK but it wont be around forever so I decided to start building another.

Like last time I started with a case. This time I picked a CoolerMaster CMStorm Scout 2 Advanced. I liked the handle on the top and side window.

I thought the side window looked a little boring so I took it off and fabricated my own custom one that I hand etched with a dremel like tool and sandwiched some LED backlighting into.

This pic doesn't do it justice but it's enough to give you an idea what it will kinda look like when I get a power supply and fire it up.

Speaking of power supply I still need to get one for this and a few other things like RAM, a few SSD's, a few HDD's, an optical drive and oh yeah a video card. But as you can see I've put a Enermax CPU cooler in there. In order to make that fit I had to take the dremel to the top cover and the fans.

I've also took out the fans in the front and swapped out the red LED's for Blue LED's. So not a hard core mod by any means but as the topic title says it's a Work In Progress.

Hopefully when I do get it running I'll put it on Win 7.

Maybe I'll paint Nanami Madobe and Inori Aizawa in some hardcore yuri action on the other cover.

And that's it for now.

Phil
