Seeing as I'm planning another build here shortly, I thought I'd share the build I just completed (mostly). I'm really enjoying the process and can't wait to button this one up and start the next one! More details on that one later.
My intent was to put together a solid, quiet workstation with a few less common bits, and have some fun doing it. This is not a workstation in the true sense of the word, but for me it needed to be stable, fast and have plenty of power to spare. I will be using this machine mostly for editing photos/video, some music production, running virtual machines and some occasional gaming (Until the next build is done).
I'll be updating this post as I process the photos and gather the complete parts lists.
For now the big pieces:
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Primo
Motherboard: Asus X99 Deluxe
Memory: G. Skill Ripjaw 2400mhz (32gb)
CPU: Intel 5960X
Storage:
- Boot drive: Samsung XP941 512GB
- Storage drives: 2x 256gb Samsung 840 Pro, 1x 500gb Samsung 840 Evo, 1 2TB WD Black, and 2x 3TB WD Reds (Raid 1 backup)
Graphics: 2x Sapphire R9 290x (these were leftovers also and most likely will be replaced here in the coming months)
PSU: EVGA 1300w G2 w/a Thermalright TR-X 140mm fan swap

- 10 pack Primochill Revolver Compression fittings (white)
- 10 pack Primochill Revolver Compression fittings (black)
- Primochill 1/2 OD rigid tubing (White and black)
- 1x Phanteks fan hub (2 total w/ one supplied with the case)
- A ridiculous amount of Bitspower fittings/rotary adapters/bulkheads/etc.
- Distilled water (holds about 1/2 gallon)
- Primochill Primoflex LRT 1/2 OD tubing (for some of the behind the scenes bits)
