PC cases that I genuinely like are pretty few and far between for me. The only cases that I actually like are the Corsair Carbide Spec-01, the Phanteks Enthoo Pro (of which I only discovered the other day: wow that is a competitive price!), and now this: The Cooler Master MasterCase Pro 5!
My Spec-01 is awesome, it looks great, but it's just to small. It can't fit a big enough CPU cooler, the cable management is crap, and whilst the build quality could be classed as 'okay', I wanted more. As soon as I saw LTT's video at CES of the MasterCase 5, I decided there and then that I must have it when I came out. Little did I know it would come out in September (right in time for my birthday as well, 4th September, which is today). I got the case as a birthday present from my parents.
The unboxing isn't particularly interesting: the foam was good, it had a nice protective foam type bag in which the case was held, etc etc.
Now the actual case. The build quality of this thing is remarkable - and damn it looks good!
My plan with this case is to initially pair my CPU with the Noctua NH-D15 (which has already been ordered) and rebuild in the case (obviously). My long term goal with this case is to build a custom loop. I haven't decided on my rad setup yet, but I think the front can fit a 420mm rad, so with a 280mm in the top, that should provide adequate cooling for a CPU + 2x GPU (should I ever go SLI/Xfire).
If you want to see my experience with it, let me know. I shall be rebuilding my PC tomorrow (pics to come).
