Project Robotics

This is a build for my robotics team we really needed an upgrade and we finally gathered all the parts

specs
case asus essentio oem matx
motherboard asus m4a89gtd pro
gpu nvidia 480
cpu phenom 2
ram 4gbs of gold something ram
psu 450 watt antec
2 fans corsair sp120 cheap versions
hdd/ssd 2 180 gb hdds and 1 60 gb ssd

Now to the build

First I had to make this case good for atx instead of atx. It was a very close fit but it will work

Day 1

So first lets shave down the matx standoffs with a dremmel

This is the ugly result but it will be covered by the motherboard anyway

Next I had to install atx standoffs.

I used plastic snap on standoffs and drilled small holes

did 2 and bam end of Day 1

Day 2 all I did was install 2 standoffs

Day 3

ok first I had to shave down the power supply bracket.
Now a dremmel would kinda work but it would take forever waste cutting bits and probally overheat 1 or 2 times
So i had to use my arch enemy the grinding wheel. I hate this tool mostly because of how many sparks it makes its just kinda scary

But it worked well

after that I had to cut a bit off to have space for the io
I used metal shears and grinded it down with a dremel.

everything fits nicely so lets install some more components

Ok so all the componets are installed just waiting for 2 parts

washers for standoffs
and molex to 8 pin.

Day 3 over

Day 4 should be the last build day!
Need to bolt down the motherboard
Install the heatsink
and install the psu and pcie screws.
